Happy Birthday!!

Today is my Birthday!!  I am so happy to be able to celebrate another year.  My father has been moved to a skilled nursing center closer to my house so I can visit him daily.  Please continue to pray for his continued recovery.

I did finish some of the garments I was working on.  I will meet with my sewing buddies on the 25th for the results of the sewing challenge.  This month we were to make skirts.  I hope to finish my three skirts before we meet.  Next month we will be working on tops and/or jackets to go with the skirts.  Then for November, we will work on pants that coordinate with the skirts and tops or jackets.  I promise the photos will be posted soon.  I will have one of the ladies to take my photos for me when we meet.

So Much has Happened ... Not Much Sewing

Sorry that I haven't updated my blog.  My father has been hospitalized since June 11, 2010.  He had quintuple bypass surgery after having a heart attack.  He has had multiple complications.  My life has been turned upside down.  I did manage to complete a few garments.  I hope to have photos very soon of my completed pieces.  My sewing friends are trying to get me back on track.  Our challenge for September is to make as many skirts as possible.  My time is severely limited but I hope to complete at least three before we meet up on the 3rd Saturday of this month.  Today I received a box of fabric from Fabric Mart.  Oh joy!!!

Like Carolyn, I'm working on a TNT dress pattern.  I think I finally have a dress TNT.  I think 5 versions of the pattern would make it a TNT?  I've had Butterick 5147 in my stash for over a year and see some of the other ladies have made some really great dresses from this pattern.  I haven't attempted B5147 as of yet.  I hope to make it a TNT also.  Elizabeth over at Sew A Beginner just made a really wonderful dress from B5147.  Sheila is definitely the Queen of B5147.  She has made some very nice pieces from this pattern.  I think hands down, she wears the B5147 crown.  I find so much inspiration from the other sewing blogs I follow.  These three ladies are so creative and giving.  This is only three of the many sewing blogs I follow on a weekly basis.  I take my laptop or netbook to the hospital and browse the blogs when I'm waiting to see my father.  A big thank you to all the sewing bloggers.

I'm on a countdown to the 14th - ten more days to my Birthday.  I'll meet up with my sewing buddies on tomorrow.  No sewing, just dinner and lots of talking and laughter.  I'll meet them after I leave the hospital.
